Under the leadership of third-year head coach Voyd St. Pierre, the Stars were preparing for the 1990 season with a small roster of returning players and promising young athletes.
Despite coming off a winless season, Coach St. Pierre remained optimistic about the team's potential. He emphasized the importance of dedication, motivation, teamwork, and developing the skills needed to compete.
The article also highlighted several student-athletes, including Robert Cantrell, Anthony Martin, Woody Parisian, Virgil Buffalo, Andy Russette, Larry Denny, Jarom Crebs, Fred Blackwolf, and Wyatt DeCora.
At the time, Rocky Boy was also looking forward to the construction of its own football field, expected to be ready for the 1991 season.
