Rocky Boy Schools Health and Wellness
A Health and Wellness Assessment was conducted for Rocky Boy Schools in October 2024 with the goal to better support children’s health, well-being, and ability to learn. It is a federal requirement for schools to undergo a health and wellness assessment every three years and keep the public updated on school wellness efforts.
Following the most recent assessment, Rocky Boy Schools has reinstated a Health and Wellness Committee with representation from the school food service director, school administrators, teachers, and local wellness professionals, which will meet once per year at minimum. The committee will be responsible for reviewing the school’s Health and Wellness Policy annually and welcomes involvement from students, school staff, and community members. The group will seek out student input and make their recommendations as appropriate as well as educate staff, students and families on child nutrition standards and Smart Snacks guidelines set by the U.S Department of Agriculture
